KITPLANES editor-in-chief, Paul Dye, took some time out today to take advantage of a photo opportunity with the Orville and Wilbur Wright, and you can too! The National Park Service, sited in the Federal Building adjacent to the Special RV-6 parking area, takes your photograph with the Brothers and provides a print copy for free.
Adjacent to the Wright Brothers kiosk is the Original 1903 Wright Flyer simulator. Try it! Not as easy as it looks. Many an experienced pilot has crashed this simulator during AirVenture and kids often do better than their certificated parents. Speaking of kids, the National Park Service (celebrating its centennial year) also has a Junior Ranger program each day designed to both educate and entertain elementary school children. They also have several freebies for both kids and parents.
