A trip to the south end of the field reveals that not all homebuilt vendors have clustered together mid-field near the Homebuilt Headquarters. Some of our community have opted for the Light Sport venue next to the Ultralight runway. Hummel, AirCam, and Just (Highlander) have set-up in this area. Zenith has a small presence here as well as to the north. Aircraft Specialty Flightlines are also in the area.
And while you are visiting these folks, be sure to check out the Vorflugelapparat Otto Lillenthal 1896 glider replica. Inside their tent, they have video of the contraption in flight at Kitty Hawk and you will likely have the opportunity to talk with the pilot.
