Among the many interests of RANS Aircrafts Randy Schlitter is bicycle manufacturing, which he does with an uncommon philosophy of design and ergonomics. At Oshkosh, Schlitter was showing off a new bicycle with a spliced frame that can be broken down and fitted into a typical aircraft. (Naturally, Schlitter wants that airplane to be a RANS, but thats another story.)
The as-yet unnamed bicycle features slick racing-style street tires, the trademark large saddle and a semi-recumbent riding position. Constructed of thin-wall steel tubing, the bike weighs just 23 pounds all up. The price is expected to be around $2600.
