When you’re elbow deep in wiring, it is motivating once in awhile to clear all of the debris, check all the connections, and apply some voltage to the input side of the airplane, just to watch things light up! (Note all of those caveats – applying power with dangling power and ground wires can lead to grief when electrons flow where they aren’t supposed to – test smart!)
The little jet project continues to progress rapidly though, and most of the airframe system wiring (fuel pumps, air system, gear indicators, flaps, lights…) are all connected up and working properly. So it is on to the EFIS and avionics next – and it is a simple thing to put voltage to the EFIS screen wiring to watch it light up… and as I said above, a little motivating to do so! Note that none of the sensors are connected, so the EFIS was filing complaints about being cut off from the world – but aside from that, it’s good to see the panel come alive.
And pay no attention the the nose wheel unsafe condition – sensors weren’t connected there either…
