Higher Class Aviation now offers the Sport Hornet to customers as a fast-build kit for $19,495. All primary load-supporting structures are assembled at the factory, and completion time is as low as 400 hours, but this kit still meets the 51% requirement, the company says.
The certified SLSA version of the plane remains available at a price of $60,000. Says Higher Class Aviation President Robert Gaither, This new pricing package has no effect on ready-to-fly pricing. A person can still buy a Sport Hornet that is ready to put on the line as a Sport or Private Pilot training plane, complete with advanced digital avionics packages.
