It’s Oshkosh time again! The trusty Vans RV-8 brought us from Alabama in about 4 flying hours. Even found cheap fuel ($3.64) and a free hot dog in northern Indiana, followed by a pass up the Chicago FLY corridor, along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The infamous Rippon Approach went well, right up to when we were sent back to the beginning–the controllers needed room for three twins who dropped down from the 2300′ inbound path. No problem–practice makes perfect, and we came to fly, examine, and report about airplanes. Be sure to join the Kitplanes staff right here, every day, for the latest reports.
