The Homebuilt combined camping and parking totals are in from last night and we are a little ahead of the past two years. The planes parked in the two areas each evening after the field closed are counted and recorded. There were 452 Homebuilts last night, 20 more than the previous year. The trend of many with the options to come early, on Thursday or Friday, has continued to grow and generally favorable weather across the country, specifically in Oshkosh, has kept the flow of arrivals steady.

Lancair ES-P
Dave Higdon - 0
Robert Simon had the distinction of building the first Lancair ES-P to fly. But the process wasn’t without its challenges. The ES-P employs the cabin design and structure of the pressurized, retractable Lancair IV-P, but has a larger wing and fixed gear. During the build, Simon also deviated from the base design with changes that required factory support to accomplish. Not only did he learn much, he ultimately got the plane he needed; by Dave Higdon.
