GRT Avionics is now shipping Val Avionics remote nav and com radios to be used with the HXr, GRT’s large-screen electronic flight instrumentation system for experimental and light-sport aircraft. The HXr features a dedicated suite of controls for remotely mounted avionics such as radio, transponder, intercom and audio panel, saving precious instrument panel space in an age dominated by large glass displays.
The COM 2KR and NAV 2KR are the first remote radios to provide full volume and frequency control via RS-232 serial interface; the nav also features RS-232 OBS control. They each sport a compact, stackable CNC milled aluminum case less than one-inch thick that minimizes space requirements. Supporting both 14- and 28-volt systems, the NAV 2KR and COM 2KR are outfitted for flexible installation in many types of light-sport and experimental aircraft. The Val COM 2KR and NAV 2KR are manufactured in the United States and are priced at $1,195 each.
