One of the great benefits at AirVenture is the Emergency Aircraft Repair station. I had intermittent problems with my primary radio, a Garmin 650, during my flight to Oshkosh and hoped that reseating the radio might “fix” it. But, I didn’t have didn’t have the right Allen wrench.
To the rescue, John Ruyle from the Emergency Aircraft Repair station. Appropriate wrench in hand, he gave us a ride in their quad, assisted me while I pulled and reseated the radio, then took us back where we wanted to go. Even better, the radio is now working (at least on the ground). Of course, a good donation was dropped in their donation box. They had saved me many hundreds of dollars! Thanks, guys.
