Following a successful trial at Sebring, Dynon Avionics will be offering hands-on courses in the operation of its SkyView system at the Sun ’n Fun fly-in, March 27 through April 1, 2012. The classes will last 3.5 hours and will be held in the mornings and afternoons Thursday through Sunday. During the seminars, current and prospective owners of SkyView systems will be working with real units, configuring them for various ground and flight operations.
Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and SkyView expert, will provide instruction, and classes will be held in the Hilton Garden Inn hotel adjacent to the airport. The hotel conference room is air-conditioned with comfortable seating and a classroom-like environment, and the session will include a full audio/visual presentation. Classes are structured with limited seating to assure no more than two students at each SkyView display.
To cover the cost of conference room space, the cost is $30 per person. Advance ticket purchase is required through Brown Bag Tickets, an online ticketing service that can also be accessed on the Dynon web site.
For those pilots planning to switch from analog to digital/electronic instrumentation there will be opportunities to explore the benefits and compromises of glass panel systems, cockpit resource management and procedures for safe transition.
