Here’s a real head turner at the Van’s display tent during opening day of SNF 2016: a fully equipped IFR airplane. Even Gus at Van’s noted it was the first IFR airplane they’ve ever displayed, having always designed the successful line of RVs as sport aircraft. The really beautiful aircraft on display is the new RV-14 built by Mitch Lock, Van’s East coast distributor. It has a fully redundant Garmin G3X Touch system with a fully coupled autopilot. And the gorgeous paint job in full metal flake really glistens in the sun. All kits are now available for the RV-14 and I bet we will be seeing many of them at fly-ins in the not too distant future! Yes, that is Mitch standing next to the RV-14.
