Experimental aircraft and their builders are what the Mojave Experimental Fly-In is all about, and it’s starting today.
Tonight the family-oriented indoor Build & Fly model aircraft event starts things off; tomorrow is the main fly-in on the Mojave ramp. A new twist this year is the awards banquet has been moved from its traditional Saturday night to a luncheon immediately after judging on Saturday afternoon. This allows everyone to conveniently meet and congratulate this year’s most celebrated experimenters–a great idea.
Arrive early Saturday to avoid the mad gaggle of mid-morning arrivals. The restaurant is open for breakfast on the field so it’s better to make the dawn patrol than shoot the rapids when the show opens.
