Drill presses tend to stand by themselves in the shop so that we have room to work large pieces in them. Drill bits are always “over there” in the toolbox. But they don’t have to be—at least the common ones. We saw this idea in the shop at DJM Manufacturing. A small chunk of magnet was slapped onto the drill head and the most commonly used bits then stuck to the side. It’s a simple way of keeping them at hand and off the floor.
