With the release of the new iLevil 3 series, Levil Aviation has added yet another feature to wireless AHRS, GPS, ADS-B receivers. The iLevil 3 boasts all of the same features of previous units and adds the ability to accept a standard SD memory card, which will record and save flight information.
This information can then be transferred into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to gain a clear picture of a flight, including position, airspeed, altitude, attitude, etc. The data is also saved in FDR and GDX format, which will allow users to replay their flight in X-Plane flight simulator, Google Earth, and more.
Levil Aviation envisions data recording becoming a valuable tool for the industry. Whether being utilized in a flight school to recreate flights in a safe environment with students or for flight testing a new aircraft, users will now have access to valuable information with minimal effort and cost.
With an optional GPS source, the iLevil 3 meets the position source performance requirements of §91.227 for ADS-B OUT in the Experimental aircraft market. The device has the ability to communicate with currently installed Mode-S transponders, activate an extended squitter, and meets the ADS-B mandate for 2020 for Experimental and Light Sport Aircraft.
The iLevil 3 is currently available at a starting price of $1,195. It can be purchased at Levil Aviation’s website, www.aviation.levil.com, or from most other general aviation stores and websites. For more information, visit Levil Aviation at AirVenture or online.
