Fatal Sonex Crash in Wisconsin

The Northwestern is reporting two people died in a Sonex aircraft crash in Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon. “The Oshkosh Police and Fire departments responded to the crash at about 3:20 p.m., Tuesday, inside a gate at the company’s north plant property on West 23rd Avenue, near Wittman Regional Airport, said Joe Nichols, a police department spokesman. As of about 5 p.m., the Federal Aviation Association and the National Transportation Safety Board were en route to the scene to investigate.”

The two-seat single-engine Sonex SA kit-built aircraft, crashed into a line of military vehicles at Oshkosh Corp., just short of Wittman Regional Airport. It was registered to John Monnett Jr., according to the FAA Aircraft Registry.

The two victims have not been named yet.
