The 2012 Safari 400 kit helicopter appeared at AirVenture this year with loads of new standard features. Among them are a more robust rotor head with longer bearing life, increased useful load, a new blade plate design with adjustable lead/lag, titanium tail rotor blades, rotor speed governor, electric cyclic trim, collective friction, leather seats, carpet, powder-coated frame.
Power is from a Lycoming or Superior custom O-360 engine. Also included in the kit are main and tail rotor transmission detectors with alarms and oil level sight glasses, main rotor tach with high/low alarm, sprag overrunning clutch, engine and flight instruments, nav/landing/strobe lights, ground handling wheels, and 20 hours of flight testing.
Options include custom leather interior, avionics packages, pontoon floats, cargo hook, heliport trailer, Power Flow tuned exhaust.
