Vizion–TruTrak Flight Systems’ New Autopilot

TruTrak Flight Systems has officially announced two new autopilots, the Vizion 380 and 385. While these are both dual-axis models, single-axis versions of the Vizion are expected to follow soon.

The Vizion series offers all the features of the Digiflight II VSGV, as well as altitude select/pre-select, emergency AP level, and full integrated control from an EFIS system like the AFS 5000 series or Garmin G3X. This gives pilots full redundancy as they will still have the full-featured autopilot even without the EFIS, but will get the benefit of integrated control as well.

The Vizion series capitalizes on the simple user interface and supreme flight dynamics that were established by the Digiflight II. It also includes new features like Emergency Level mode, which was designed primarily for VFR pilots that inadvertently end up in IMC. Altitude Select and Altitude Preselect modes were designed to be very easy to use in IFR flight since a target altitude can be pre-selected and the vertical speed easily adjusted to any desired value. This feature is extremely useful when initiating approaches or during step-down approaches.

The Vizion 380 is 2.5 inches high x 2.5 inches wide x 5.5 inches deep and fits a standard 2.25-inch cutout. The Vizion 385 is rectangular, measuring 1.7 inches high x 4.15 inches wide x 5.5 inches deep. Both models are now available.
