Sonex has updated its engine-mount offerings for both current and legacy kits. Previously, builders wishing to use the Rotax 9-series engines would use a bed-style mount but the new ring-style mount is available as an updated option. The mounts are available for nosewheel and conventional-gear airplanes. Cooling kits created by the Cooper Aircraft Corporation are also in the works.

Customers who have already purchased A-Model and B-Model bed mounts will receive 20% off new Rotax ring mounts. The upgrade is not required for aircraft with the existing bed mount but it’s offered as an option for builders still in process and for new kits.

In addition, the Jabiru Mount Bushing Ring System is available to scratch builders who are welding their own custom engine mounts. The system can be used for Rotax mount rings, small Continental and Lycoming or other engine mounts in need of a “cup and ring” style rubber shock bushing system.

Also new is a prop-hub spacer from AeroConversions to fit Rotax 9-series engines. The ACV-P58 Rotax Prop Hub Spacer is 46mm in length, the shortest spool-type spacer on the market, according to the company. When paired with a Sensinich wood propeller and SNX-P10-04 spinner/crushplate, the ACV-P58 spacer uses a common 4-inch bolt circle pattern. The ACV-P58-01 Prop Hub Spacer pairs with ACV-P58-02 stainless steel drive lugs for installation to the reduction drive prop flange. Originating from 6061-T6 aluminum, the ACV-P58-01 spacer features a 13mm diameter drive lugs, 47mm diameter prop centering lug, and uses AN5 hardware. The Rotax prop hub spacer and drive lugs are optional with the Rotax prop flange attach hardware.

Onex single place customers will also be pleased to hear that they are able to purchase engine mounts for Jabiru 3300, Jabiru 2200 and UL Power 260 and 350-series engines. Previously, only the AeroConversions AeroVee engine was supported.

Lead time for new parts is 10-12 weeks. To purchase please visit sonexaircraft.com.
