Cheese Curd Tacos?

0

I’ll be honest, I’m not much for out-of-the-box state fair foods, but I do love cheese curds (I grew up eating fresh ones – these deep fried things are a new idea, but I have to admit, quite addictive), and mixed with chunks of Bratwurst and plopped in a deep-fried tortilla shell with lettuce and a kicker sauce… well, how could I resist at least trying one?! Two, actually… you can only buy them in pairs at a MSRP of $14 for the pair. The wife and I shared them – I got the “Original,” she got the “Hot Chick” – I think we both agreed that the Original was the better package, with a bit milder sauce and the little chunks of Brat, they were definitely tasty. The Hot Chick involved Cole slaw in the mix, probably to make it sound healthier, but come on.

Although we’re glad to have given the a try, I think we’ll probably stick to the box of curds from A&W for the rest of the week when our cholesterol levels drop back from dangerous levels… but by all means, if Wisconsin isn’t your native soil, you probably need to give these a try, if for no other reason – bragging rights!
