Rich’s Coffee Bar

There’s a new addition to the homebuilt camping Pavilion this year—a lean-to structure with plumbing and electricity that serves as a camp kitchen (but please don’t tell the Oshkosh building inspector) and prep area during the show, and a storage building for the barbecue grills and other HBC equipment during the off-season. Anyone that has stayed in HBC in the past many years knows that coffee is available first thing in the morning, but they may not know that this is do to an early-rising long-time volunteer. Rich Emery volunteers to get up and make coffee for the hundreds of campers each day of the show, and to honor his years of service, someone has added a sign to the new service window. It ain’t Starbucks: you get regular coffee, cream, and sugar—and in my book that’s a GOOD thing.

Thanks to EAA for the new building, but thanks to Rich for continuing to get up and make the coffee!
