While trolling through the bins of assorted parts and treasures at the B&B Airparts booth today, we ran across this odd piece of rubber that looks like a witches hat that got caught in the laundry rollers. I’m not sure which part of a Piper wears boots, but I did think it showed promise as a pushrod weather boot to keep cold air from flowing from an RV wing into the fuselage. For $7.50 each, I do believe that this is one “certified” airplane part that can be installed for less money than the typical boot made by homebuilders out of vinyl or nylon.
They only had a few left however, so if you’re at the show you better move fast if you want a pair!
